Who Are We?
Our family started farming in 1924 when the first Pawlaczyks arrived in Toledo, Ohio from Poland. Almost 100 years later and we're still at it, even if it looks a little different. In 2020 we swapped the tillage equipment for nature's mowers, cattle. After watching a video highlighting Greg Judy's regenerative cattle ranch everything he said made perfect sense. What we realized is the conventional row crop model was not the way to steward creation that we thought it was. We were trying to fight creation every step of the way instead of working with it. How could we not move toward regenerative grazing cattle?!?! We shifted our focus from yield per acre to encouraging and improving ecological function.
The byproduct of all this ecological and soil improvement is producing a premium healthy food product. Now instead of selling corn or soybeans into a large co-op and having no idea what we're producing for or who we're producing for, we get to interact with our customers face to face and see the positive effect it has.

Our Goal
To rebuild our environment and our soils using nature’s most effective tool, the herbivore! By moving livestock daily we are mimicking the constant movement and migration of bison across the continent centuries ago.
Utilizing management intensive grazing, our cattle harvest the top third of the plant where the most solar energy is stored and offers great animal performance. At the same time the cattle trample some of the plants onto the soil placing organic matter, storing carbon, and fertilizing the soil with the addition of manure and urine. By adding organic matter and carbon to the soil we provide food for soil biology while increasing water infiltration and reducing runoff. Because we always leave plants standing we keep our nutrients and soil out of the waterways and on our farm, while providing a solar collector for the plants to recover. These practices help our cattle stay clean and healthy and results in a cleaner environmentally conscious food source for you the consumer.
